Shipping & Delivery

We ship to continental (the 48 contiguous states) US destinations by FEDEX. Please provide the name and address, apartment numbers and floors (especially for office buildings) and a phone number. Please, no PO Box or FPO numbers since Fedex does not ship there. Also, include any message you would like us to convey for you on the gift card. We ship your package with a signature release meaning that FEDEX will deliver the package to your door without requiring a signature. If this is not acceptable, please let us know when you place the order (this is in the "special items" box on the order form). We can not be responsible if there is no one to accept this order.

Our standard practice for destinations where the temperature is cooler than 70F is to ship second day Fedex. We do not recommend shipping over the weekend, so we do not ship then in general, and encourage deliveries for Tuesdays only via next day overnight delivery. We will be happy to arrange for delivery on Saturdays but advise that Fedex may charge a premium for Saturdays over weekday rates. Please note that shipping charge quotes are approximate and in larger orders may be slightly higher if we need to divide it into multiple shipments. If there is a major rate difference we will let you know for your approval. Be aware that some shipping deadlines exist as in the case of Christmas and Valentine's day.

For destinations, where the temperature is over 70 degrees F, we recommend shipping next day Fedex with ice packing (add $3 to shipping and handling), otherwise we are not responsible for melted chocolates! If you specify with ice and elect two day shipping, we can NOT guarantee the state of your chocolates. Incidentally, our ice packs may be used more than once - don't throw them out!

Local Manhattan Delivery:

We provide local Manhattan delivery via messenger for $15 for packages under 8 pounds in certain zones. Please place your order by noon on the day before the delivery date.

Gift card:

If you are sending the package to someone as a gift, please don't forget to advise us to include a giftcard with your message, otherwise the recipient will be pleasantly mystified as to the origin of the unexpected gift!

Returns & Replacements

We are very proud of our Chocolat Moderne collection and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. However, no return of food is accepted, under any circumstances. Chocolat Moderne cannot be held responsible for damage if you (or the recipient of a gift) are not present at time of delivery and the damage occurs as a result of the delay in claiming the package. Also, Chocolat Moderne cannot be responsible for heat damage. We highly recommend shipping to an address where someone will be able to receive the package when delivered. Chocolate left outside your home all day may be damaged by weather that is too hot, cold, rainy or humid.

Claims for Damages

All merchandises leaves the business in perfect condition. It then becomes the BUYER'S RESPONSABILITY to claim for damages with the delivering carrier.
